January 2010 Meeting Highlights:
Ridgefield has grown and so has the Ridgefield Art Association! About two-thirds of our members attended a lovely potluck, hosted by Kay Stringfellow of the Pickled Heron Gallery who allowed us to use her banquet hall. The new caterers in town - ask Kay for their contact info - prepared and served a delicious smoked pork loin as an entree.
President Dan Baker reviewed the year's events, talked about new exhibiting opportunities partnering with others, asked for support from the members to help with some organization needs and several volunteered to lead or participate in committees to help in the administration of our growing exhibiting and sale opportunities. He was excited about the prospects of our spring show and asked members to think about running for an officer or board position in October 2010.
The rest of the meeting was just fun, social and a wonderful networking opportunity in which many of us shared techniques and other personal insights into the 'business' and pleasure of art.
October 2009 Meeting Highlights:
Attorney Candice E. Jackson, a board member and sponsor of the art association, will be assisting the 501(c)(3) committee with legal forms. A resolution was added to increase meeting frequency to eight times a year. An additional resolution was added regarding pro-rating membership dues for those who join within 90 days of the October due date.
Meeting frequency has also been increased to eight times a year.
